Farmer Hilery Gobert of Driftwood Farm has a deep passion for soil and at the next Louisiana CRAFT event, we'll dive into the various practices that promote soil health on his farm, including soil coverage, minimal disturbance, biodiversity, living roots, and nutrient management. Driftwood Farm's emphasis on soil leads to increased climate resilience, improved water management, and an overall thriving ecosystem that maximizes the land’s potential while preserving its ecological balance.
Driftwood Farm is a nurturing, productive, sustainable, small-scale specialty crop farm that serves the community by being a research and educational tool for the community. Located on 65 acres in Iowa, Louisiana, Mr. Hilery Gobert focuses on organic and regenerative practices that enhance soil health, boost biodiversity and generate profit through the sales fresh vegetables, value-added products, and Driftwood Farm Hibiscus Tea. He is committed to utilizing renewable energy, innovative technology, and conservation practices that contribute the farm's economic growth and sustainability.

Farmers that drive 30+ miles to participate will receive a $20 gas card.
This workshop is co-sponsored by Louisiana CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance of Farmer Training)which aims to bring established and aspiring Louisiana and Gulf South agricultural producers and harvesters together for farmer-to-farmer training in sustainable agriculture. Louisiana CRAFT is supported by Sprout, Braiding Seeds Fellowship, the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP).
