Valley Reels Presents another night of grade A Canadian music, this time featuring the internationally renowned Lotus Wight (Peterborough, ON) and local banjo hero Scott Clarke (Ottawa, ON). These two are masters of the 5-string banjo, as well as being deeply involved in the Ottawa folk music scene. A night of original and antique banjo tunes performed by two incredible players.Show Description
LOTUS WIGHT: Lotus Wight is a practitioner of home-made music in the old time style. He performs original works that defy the musical epoch on banjo, guitar, jaw harps and his own invention, the contrabass harmoniphoneum. He has been recently nominated for the CFMA Stan Rogers Best Traditional Vocalist Award, and with his painstakingly-curated songs, he guarantees the future of antiquity. Bios
In addition to releasing his critically acclaimed album "Original Works for Voice and Banjo" earlier this year, Lotus Wight has been nominated for the Folk Canada "Stan Rogers Traditional Singer" award. He's toured internationally under his own name, along as appearing with Hezekiah Proctor, and as a founding member of the renowned Sheesham, Lotus, and Son. Accolades
