About this Event

* YOU MUST ATTEND ALL THREE CLASSES AS PART OF THIS MASTERCLASS SERIES*

TICKET INCLUDES ACCESS TO ALL THREE CLASSES.

Class 1 and 2 - Saturday 23 May, 10am-5pm (Lunch break included)

Class 1 – Stone-in-Place and Bezel Settings (Wax)

Participants build on existing jewellery skills to learn stone-in-place design principles, carve and construct wax forms suitable for casting, create bezel settings in wax with consideration of shrinkage and metal flow, understand stone selection and placement, and prepare wax models correctly for casting.

Outcome: A resolved wax model incorporating stone-in-place or bezel-set design, ready for casting.

Class 2 – Drip Wax and Found-Object Mould Making

Participants explore drip wax techniques and work with found natural objects such as shells or leaves. They learn how to safely prepare objects for mould making, create silicone moulds, and generate wax components for jewellery designs, with consideration of scale and wearability.

Outcome: A silicone mould created from a found object and wax components ready for casting and design integration.

Class 3 - Saturday 30 May, 10am-1pm

Polishing and Finishing

Participants clean and refine cast jewellery, develop confidence using files, abrasives, and rotary tools, explore polished and matte finishes, refine edges for comfort and durability, and complete final polish and presentation.

Outcome: A finished, wearable cast jewellery piece with a professional finish.
