A draft is one of the most exciting and skill-testing ways to play Magic: The Gathering. Instead of bringing a pre-built deck, players create their decks on the spot by drafting cards from booster packs.
Here’s how it works:
Open Booster Packs – Each player opens a booster pack, selects two cards, passes the rest to the next player, and repeats the process for a total of 3 packs per player.
Build a Deck – After picking cards from multiple packs, players construct a minimum 40-card deck using their drafted pool and basic lands.
Compete & Adapt – Players battle it out in a Swiss-style tournament or another structured format. Since no two drafts are the same, adaptability and strategic thinking are key!
Drafting is perfect for both new and experienced players. It encourages creativity, sharpens deck-building skills, and ensures a level playing field where everyone starts from the same position.
