Music on the Delaware is pleased to host the Loren Daniels Trio at the Walton Theatre on Sunday, May 17, at its final coffeehouse of the 2025-26 season. The concert will run from 6-8 p.m. and is free to the public, with donations to Music on the Delaware gratefully accepted. Desserts and drinks will be available. As a trio, Loren Daniels, Evan Jagels, and Joe Damone put a unique and grooving jazz feel to songbook standards, jazz classics, pop/R&B/rock favorites and original compositions. The jazz played by the trio encompasses music of many different origins, cultures, eras and genres. The three prove that jazz can be made with all kinds of music including great songbook standards from the likes of Porter, Gershwin and Ellington; great rock/R&B classics from Smokey Robinson, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, and in particular creatively imagined songs of the Beatles. The Loren Daniels Trio musicians hope to engage listeners with the joyous energy of their music. All three are indeed creative, experienced, and accomplished performers.
Loren Daniels is a jazz pianist and vocalist, as well as a composer and lyricist. In addition to performing as a soloist and with notable jazz musicians, Loren is also an educator, having taught in Teaneck, NJ as well as teaching music privately. His latest CD is “Ticket to Ride.”
No stranger to Music on the Delaware events, Evan Jagels is a bassist, composer and concert organizer, and performs locally with The Killdeer Trio among many other groups. Additionally, he holds a position as Lecturer of Music at Hartwick College.
Drummer Joe Damone has had years of bandstand experience in many genres. Joe leads The Rhythm Dogs, a well-known band that has played at many private and public events throughout the country, and has performed with many greats including Stanley Turrentine, Phyllis Hyman, Chuck Berry, and Joan Rivers.
This coffeehouse concert brings to a close the regular Walton Theatre music season for Music on the Delaware. However, one final community event remains, and that is the annual Porchfest, which will take place on porches around the town of Walton on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
