Luis Arce and Sarah Williamson, who many of you met at our retreat last year, will be in town! Join us for dinner.The celebration of the Lord’s Day is a way of honouring the Sabbath and keeping it holy. It is a set of prayers that acknowledges God’s goodness in the week that has passed and sets Sunday apart as a special day.
It comes from the Jewish tradition of Shabbat, which they do on Friday night to set aside Saturday. We celebrate ours on Saturday evening because as Christians, we have our holy day on Sunday.
Our YP group welcomes Christians of all traditions (whether Catholic, Protestant or Orthodox). The Lord’s Day Celebration is also special for us because it is a chance for us to celebrate the Sabbath together knowing that on Sunday, many of us will go to different churches.
