Join Texas artist Tim Oliver for an immersive three-day workshop exploring the expressive potential of watercolor through loose landscape painting. This class focuses on capturing mood, atmosphere, and the emotional essence of a place rather than rigid detail, helping artists develop a more intuitive and personal approach to their work.
Tim Oliver is passionate about interpreting and communicating the character and emotion of the places he paints. He believes watercolor, in a practiced hand, is an ideal medium for conveying the powerful feeling of a landscape. While he explores a range of subjects, he is most drawn to scenes that evoke an immediate emotional response—particularly those rooted in western, rural, and gritty environments.
Throughout the workshop, students will learn how to loosen their painting style, simplify complex scenes, and use watercolor techniques to express light, texture, and atmosphere. Artists of all levels are welcome.
