Early Music Michigan celebrates our twenty-fifth season and the five hundredth anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi Palestrina by juxtaposing Mass settings of Palestrina with the motets of Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach famously studied the works of Palestrina as the basis for some of his own compositions, despite their antiquity.
