Tickets: £10/ Places limited so early booking advisable! Join AOIBH CLARKE for a creative workshop on Writing for Performance. In this two-hour session we’ll explore how to craft work that is designed to not only be read but heard. Whether you’re a poet, playwright, storyteller or a total beginner, this workshop will be accessible for everyone. We'll be experimenting with creative prompts, reading some impressive work and engaging in lively discussion on how to craft writing that is ready for an audience. You’ll leave with fresh ideas, new confidence in your voice, and hopefully, your next big idea. Aoibh has been facilitating this work for almost 10 years and is passionate about creating warm, creative environments that support participants to thrive.
Aoibh Clarke Née Johnson is a playwright, theatre maker and creative facilitator from County Tyrone, Ireland. Her production The Daughters of Róisín toured for the last 5 years to sell out audiences in Dublin, Belfast, London, Australia and the Edinburgh Fringe. Aoibh works extensively with artists, marginalised groups and local community organisations using creativity, performance and the power of writing to explore contemporary and historical issues and themes.
Aoibh has been appointed Writer in Residence at the Duncairn Arts Centre in Belfast and in 2024 Aoibh was nominated for Mid Ulster Arts Person of the Year. This year, her theatre company Wee Yarn Productions has been commissioned by Mid Ulster Council to produce a new work exploring how to tackle violence against women in NI and she continues to write, teach classes and support charities with creative workshops and commissioned work.
