Join us for a Longform Improv Workshop where you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself and stretch your skills!Longform is a continuous improvised piece which is inspired from one or minimal suggestions. This differs to shortform where the games are defined for both the audience and the improvisers from the outset. In longform improv, the possibilities are truly endless with characters reappearing in different scenes, a main plot running in parallel to subplots, and different scenes and stories magically connected by improvisers. Sound challenging? It is, but it’s also incredibly thrilling and you’ll be amazed at the creative stories you will create with your fellow improvisers. In this workshop we will cover a specific longform format and you will have the opportunity to try it out in a safe, supportive and creative environment. Just like all our Dig Deep workshops, you can expect two hours of fun, creativity, learning and forming new connections with people here in Luxembourg.

Your teacher: Melissa Dalton is an improviser, actor, voiceover artist, event host and radio presenter originally from Ireland and now based in Luxembourg. Melissa holds a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin and an MA in Acting from Guildford School of Acting (GSA). Additionally, she completed further Improv training with Hoopla and UCB with acclaimed teachers such as Lee Simpson, Katy Schutte and Chris Mead. She now performs with Luxembourg’s improv troupe The Garage Gang, of which she is a founding member. She teaches regular improv courses, teambuilding workshops and 1-1 training through her organisation Dig Deep Improv with companies such as the Deloitte, PwC, EIB, University of Luxembourg, Amazon, and ArcelorMittal. Melissa has performed widely in Ireland and the UK in film, commercials and theatres including The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Finborough Theatre, The National Concert Hall and The Vaults. TV, Commercial and Voiceover work includes Aldi, Cinch, Royal London, Salesforce and RTE. Recent feature film credits include 'The Winter of the Crow', 'The Wolf, the Fox and the Leopard' and 'In from the Side'. She is the host and producer of The Melissa Dalton Show on Today Radio by RTL.
FAQs
Do I need any performance, acting or improv experience? Ideally yes as this is an intermediate class
What is improv? Improv is a type of live theatre where everything that is performed is unplanned, unscripted and created spontaneously by working as a team
Can I join this workshop if I’m not a native English speaker? Absolutely! Most of my students are not native speakers so as long as you are comfortable understanding and speaking English and have a good level you should be fine
