Long Live the Chief is a solo show written and performed by Bahlya Yansané. Developed since September 2023, the show began as Fearless One during a workshop at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective and has since evolved into Long Live the Chief, under the direction of Noah Mata.
It follows Bahlya's thought process from age 12 to 24. It's about acceptance. It's about breaking generational curses. It's about a black boy looking for joy in the wrong places. It's funny. It's thought-provoking. It's based on true events.
