Are you rebuilding your fitness? Starting over? Breaking a cycle of something that’s been holding you back — addiction, identity, a job that wasn’t yours, a version of yourself you’re ready to leave behind?
This swim is for you.
The Break the Cycle Swim 1K is a 1K open water swim in the waters of Bayshore Beach, Long Beach. Whether you’re an entry level swimmer looking for a challenge or an experienced open water swimmer — you belong here.
Come to swim. Come to meet people. Come to prove something to yourself.
Some proceeds benefit Black Star Water Polo — a nonprofit serving communities of color, promoting water safety, and creating opportunities in aquatics for underserved communities.
What to expect:
— 1K open water swim course at Alamitos Bay
— A community of people building something better
— Post swim gathering
— Swim starts at 8:00 AM
$80 registration. Limited spots.

Arrival
Info: Arrive at least 30 mins before to hydrate, find a place to put your items, stretch, and get situated before starting the swim
🕑: 08:00 AM - 10:00 AM
The Race !
Info: The race/challenge starts. If you finish early, we encourage those to cheer on the rest of the group and or mingle amongst the swimmers on the beach. If everyone finishes before 10AM. We will have a short speech, and then go on our way to enjoy a coffee, a drink, and or food just a short walk up to 2nd street!
