About this Event
The London to Geneva EV Rally will be the fourth event in a series kicked off by Brighton chums Bill Murray and Tom Druitt with the very first London to Brighton EV Rally in 2021.
Following London to Paris in 2023, Geneva was chosen because it’s a key international city in the heart of Europe, and a sensible distance from Paris, enabling us to re-live the London to Paris event and add an exciting new stage. Geneva is the European seat of the United Nations, the birthplace of the Geneva Convention and international symbol of peace and unity, things the world needs a lot of right now.
The first stage of the London to Geneva EV Rally will be the original London to Brighton EV Rally, organised by Bill Murray and Harrison Hughes. This will be an action packed event all on its own, with all the fun of the classic London to Brighton experience, people to meet, vehicles to compare, novelty vehicles to get excited about, and the famous E-Village on Brighton seafront, with exhibitions, displays, test drives, seagulls and fish & chips.
The event will finish with the traditional London to Brighton after-party and prize-giving ceremony so you'll be able to let your hair down and enjoy Brighton before the international leg.
The second stage of the rally will be a bit different. How you get from Brighton to Geneva is up to you – there are only two rules: your vehicle must be an EV and you must go via Paris.
So explore. Whether you stick to the motorways for that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing there’s a charger and a cup of coffee every 30km, or try your luck on a more direct but less reliable route, the world (or at least France) is your oyster.
We will meet on Brighton seafront at 7am on Saturday 22 June for an early morning swim (optional) and a gander at each others vehicles over coffee, and then head off at 8am. There’s a ferry from Newhaven at 09.30, or if you’re feeling brave you can opt for the Channel Tunnel instead and see if you can beat the ferry.
The Stage 2 finish line will be in central Paris – the exact location will be given to you at the start line. It’ll most likely be somewhere you can get a nice shot of your vehicle in front of a famous monument, and definitely somewhere you can get something to eat and a drink and share war stories with other participants.
The third and final stage of the rally is where we really push the boundaries - we've not done it before, and we have no idea what the infrastructure is like en route. All we know is Geneva is a wonderful city that's well worth the effort of getting there.
Once again, how you get there is entirely up to you as long as it's in an EV. The most direct route is quite hilly (with the stunning Jura mountains just before you arrive in Geneva) but you can also go round them if you don't mind going a little further.
The Finish Point will be on the banks of Lake Geneva overlooking the famous Jet d'Eau, a 140m water fountain that sends 500 litres of water into the air every second.
