About this Event
T for Talking is hosting another Local Media Mixer, this time grounded in the truth and complexity of Black mental health.
We’re creating a space for open conversation, not performance. A space where people can speak plainly about what it takes to care for the mind, body, spirit, and community in a world that asks too much and offers too little.
Across three panels, you’ll hear from skilled Black clinicians, creators, organizers, and storytellers who work every day at the intersection of care and culture:
Panel 1: What Managing Mental Health Looks Like
Daily practices, boundaries, breath, therapy, community care, and the real work of staying steady.
Panel 2: Behavioral Health in Practice
A look inside substance use, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dementia, and the systems that shape care across all ages.
Clinical clarity without judgment or stigma.
Panel 3: Creativity and Mental Health
Art, music, comedy, writing, and imagination as coping tools, coping spaces, and liberation engines.
How creative expression helps us heal, resist, and make meaning.
This mixer isn’t just a conversation. It’s a cultural reset.
A room where people can show up whole, ask questions, take notes, and carry new language back into their homes, workplaces, and communities.
All are welcome.
Come listen, learn, and grow from Black folks with lived experience, professional expertise, and a deep commitment to collective care.
