"Hew Gilroy" is set during the War of Three Kingdoms, when Charles the First was imposing religious reform on the churches in England and Scotland. It (accurately) follows General Montrose's army during the Scottish Theater of the war, and a young man who is in his ranks. His father is believed to be killed, but actually makes his way to the home of three women - all of whom have different opinions about the war. They desire to re-unite him with his son; who has risen to great esteem with Montrose.
In additon to Hew Gilroy, Mike's other Novellas include The Knight of Prague, The Redemtion of Saul, and Gi Joe - A Victorian Novel. The style Mike writes is older; He calls them Victorian Adventure Novels, though they take place in a variety of ages.

Mike is a lifelong resident of Fairfax, Virginia. He began writing fiction while in college, and found he enjoyed the process of paper and pen so much more than typing. He was determined to do all his work in that form even though this is a laborious process, as everything must then be transferred to a word process.
