About this Event
We have a limited particpant capacity, please only RSVP if you know you can attend.
We are pleased that you will be joining us for a special elephant seal guided walk within the Natural Preserve at Año Nuevo State Park. We offer the following information and suggestions to help you prepare for your trip and to have an enjoyable visit.
- Do not bring extra people. They will not be allowed on the walk.
- Be on time. Walk time (10:20am) is the time you must check in at the Ticket Window in the Marine Education Center (100 yards from the parking lot). At the center you will receive passes in exchange for this confirmation letter. Please allow plenty of time for slow traffic, bad weather, etc. on the drive here. Also, allow time for the use of the facilities and to get your group organized. Your reservation is forfeited if you are late for your walk.
- No food, candy or drinks (except water) may be consumed during the walk. However, you may bring a lunch or snacks to eat before or after your walk. Food is not available at the park.
- The walk is 2 1/2 hours long and covers a walking distance of 3 miles. Weather at Año Nuevo can be cold, wet and windy. We advise that you dress warmly and wear sturdy walking shoes; bring rain gear and a hat. We also recommend that you bring a camera and binoculars to add to the pleasure of your walk. We also recommend bringing water.
- If you have any questions, call (650) 879-2032 or visit our website www.parks.ca.gov/anosealwalks or [email protected]
