🐾 Tails on the Trails at McKinney Falls State Park! 🐾
Join us for Tails on the Trails—a special community hike in collaboration with **Austin Animal Center** and **Latino Outdoors Austin**! 🌿🐶
This event is a fantastic opportunity for **shelter dogs to enjoy a day outdoors and maybe even meet their forever family!** 💛🏡
📅 **Date & Time:** Be ready to hit the trail by **8:30 AM** at the **Upper Falls parking lot**—the dogs won’t wait for you! We’ll be doing the **3-mile loop**, which usually takes just over an hour depending on the pups’ pace.
🚫 **No Personal Dogs:** To ensure a safe and stress-free experience for all pups, **personal dogs are not allowed** on this hike. We follow a strict **10ft minimum distance** between dogs while walking in public.
🍖 **Bring Treats!** Feel free to bring treats to share with the pups. 🦴
🤝 **Interacting with the Dogs:** If you’re hiking with an AAC volunteer and their pup, **always ask before interacting.** Handlers are trained to manage each dog’s needs—your cooperation makes this a positive experience for everyone!
🐕 **Post-Hike Meet & Greet!** After the hike, we’ll have a **tent/table set up at the trailhead** where you can:
✔️ Meet some of the adoptable dogs
✔️ Learn about fostering or volunteering with Austin Animal Center
✔️ Connect with the Latino Outdoors Austin community
💰 **Entry Fee Waived!** As a thank-you for joining, park entry fees will be waived for this event! Please consider **donating to Austin Animal Center** or bringing a donation with you to support their lifesaving work.
