Liz-Zard presents this event with a goal to fundraise for The Blue Tree Project, a WA charity for mental health. Liz also aims to raise awareness of the severity of mental health in young generations, start conversations, normalise talking about it, assure her audience that there is help for those in need and show empathy to those struggling.
$5 (+) of every ticket purchased will be donated.
Liz-Zard will be accompanied by a gifted & skilled band featuring Reilly Miltrup (guitar), Bronte Miltrup (keys and backing vocals), Matt Smith (Bass) and Isaiah Quintana.
About the song:
Liz describes her third release, ‘Toast’ as representative of her roots in songwriting, and how music has helped her process emotional & mental challenges. The song features lyrically poetic verses, with intense and heavy metaphors about mental health; anxious thoughts, coping mechanisms, chasing highs and fighting lows. Liz hopes this release has her audience to feeling empathised with, supported and not alone.
Recorded at Tone City Records (Sam Ford) this tune features a sparkling guitar solo (Guitarist Reilly Miltrup) that compliments the communication of heavy emotions powerfully. An unconventional structure takes audiences on an emotional journey with intentional dynamic movements, reflecting the narrative of the song. This is one of Liz’s favourite songs to play live, and she is ecstatic for it to be in the world for listeners. Available on all streaming platforms April 22nd 2024.
Both The Bird & this event is a safe place for all. Any anti-social behaviour, harassment, aggression or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
This event will take play on Aboriginal land. The traditional custodians of this land are the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, we pay our respects to their elders past and present.
