One of Europe’s oldest literary events, the Lahti International Writers’ Reunion brings together writers, translators, literature professionals and audiences from across cultures. The professional programme takes place 11–14 June 2026.LIWRE is a free, two-day public event featuring interpreted talks and discussions, plus side events such as an international poetry evening, a prose matinée and an open mic session. This year, the conference will be held for the 32nd time. Public events take place on 12 and 13 June.
Expect inspiring author visits, thought provoking conversations and unforgettable reading experiences throughout the weekend.
International guests already confirmed include: Inga Pizāne (Latvia), Kai Aareleid (Estonia), Marius Burokas (Lithuania), Viktor Yerofeyev (Russian, based in Berlin), Simone Buchholtz (Germany), Małgorzata Lebda (Poland), Peter Dyreborg (Denmark) and Elaf Ali (Sweden).
Finnish authors joining us are Mia Franck, Siri Kolu, Martin Högstrand (Åland), Silja Järventausta, E.L. Karhu and Riina Tanskanen.
