About this Event

“A revered figure in folk and soft rock”

Music has diverse meanings and serves different purposes for many people. For Livingston Taylor, music is what grounds him and creates a “pathway home after an adventurous thought.” This connection to music has allowed Taylor to bring a distinct warmth to many stages and audiences for the past fifty years.

From coffeehouses to international tours, Taylor has created a name for himself within a family of accomplished musicians. He got his start at the age of 13 and has not stopped since. After recording his first record at age 19, he had the opportunity to take his songs on tour with artists like Jethro Tull and Linda Ronstadt.

Taylor’s ability to write introspective lyrics that not only tell stories but also connect to his fans led to the release and success of over ten albums throughout his career including his self-titled debut album Livingston Taylor, which features Top 40’s song “Carolina Day” as well as his album Three Way Mirror, featuring his biggest hit “I Will Be In Love With You.” He continues to perform these hits nationally and internationally, along with songs from more recent albums.

Taylor’s musical journey, as well as his performance experience within and outside of the folk genre, have been assets to him, as he became an instructor at the Berklee College of Music for 30 years. There, he shared the depth of his knowledge and expertise with students who went on to gain fame and have successful music careers of their own. He is an educator, songwriter, and performer of his own kind and ultimately maintains a presence, musical aptitude, and a familiarity that new and longtime followers of his work can count on.

“...an auditory experience that is nostalgic, tender, and uplifting…” – Big Round Records

“The house was not full, but my heart was.” – Mark Dolejs, Strange Carolinas
