Living with Wildlife: Safeguarding Pets & Livestock
Living with wildlife is a reality for many people across Florida, from small farms and hobby livestock owners to large working lands. This workshop will explore practical strategies for reducing conflicts with wildlife while protecting pets and livestock.
The day will be divided into two sessions.
- Session 1: Backyard Pets & Livestock | 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM. This session will focus on hobby livestock and pet owners, highlighting conflict-reduction strategies, depredation investigations, as well as programs that can help owners implement tools to safeguard animals. - Session 2: Working Lands & Commercial Livestock | 12:30 PM – 2:15 PM. This session will focus on larger working lands and commercial operations. Topics will include available assistance programs, an overview of depredation investigations, and possible tools and strategies to reduce conflict. Please see the agenda below for more details.
