Myths surround coyotes and clouds our understanding.Come listen and learn about their behaviors, issues of human and pet safety, hazing and more.
Project Coyote, Chris Schadler will discuss the eastern coyote and how residents can live in harmony with our wild neighbors.
Her presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
This program is hosted by North Andover Senior Center (481 Sutton Street) and sponsored by the North Andover Police Department.
Chris earned a Master of Science in Conservation Biology at Antioch University Graduate School. Her thesis focused on the natural recovery of the Eastern Timber Wolf in Michigan.
While wolf recovery was the focus of her early work, Chris’s attention shifted to the eastern coyote when she moved to New England in the 1980s. She chose a farm with known coyote problems to raise sheep and train her border collies. Using sound livestock management and common sense, she avoided any predation.
Beginning in the early 1990s, Chris taught Conservation Issues, Dendrology and Wolf Ecology at the University of New Hampshire, receiving many teaching excellence and student recognition awards.
