About the Speaker
- Dr. Robin Suyesh is a field biologist who has extensively studied the herpetofauna of South and Southeast Asia, including the Western Ghats, Central India, the Himalayan region of the Indian subcontinent, Malaysian Borneo, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia.
- His research focuses on understanding and documenting the behaviour and ecology of amphibians and reptiles across these biodiversity hotspots.
- He has contributed to discovering amphibian diversity in these regions and has co-authored the description of 13 new species to date.
- His PhD research on “Acoustic Communication in the Bush Frogs of the Genera Raorchestes and Pseudophilautus” was conducted at the University of Delhi in collaboration with the University of Minnesota, USA.
- In 2014, he received the Developing Nations Award from the Animal Behaviour Society, Illinois, USA.
- Dr. Suyesh currently serves as Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, where he continues his work in research, teaching, and biodiversity conservation.
