About this Event
Ready to make a real impact and get a great workout in? Join us on April 23rd and April 24th as we install oyster reef balls (ORBs) at a private homeowner site.
Please note: this event DOES NOT take place at 226 S Palafox Place. The event location will be provided to registered attendees before the event.
This project is part of our Living Shoreline Assistance Program, a program designed to promote living shorelines as a natural, sustainable alternative to traditional shoreline protection. And we need your help to bring it to life!
What to expect:
- Hands-on reef building in the water
- Lifting and moving ORBs (50lbs+)
- A solid morning workout with restorative benefits for all
Volunteers should be comfortable working in pairs to move heavy objects and working in and out of the water. Closed toes shoes are required. Staff will provides gloves, snack and water, but sunscreen and comfortable clothing are encouraged.
This event is limited to volunteers 18 years of age or older.
