About this Event
After building a film-loving community through community-curated screenings in New York, we’re excited to bring Living Room Cinema Club to LA. We wanted our first night to feel very Los Angeles, and The Long Goodbye felt like the perfect way to kick things off. What started as intimate gatherings in our living rooms has grown into events hosted in venues across cities. If you’re passionate about movies and the people who create and celebrate them, you’ll feel right at home.
About the movie:
Directed by Robert Altman, The Long Goodbye (1973) stars Elliott Gould as Philip Marlowe, a private detective navigating a sun-soaked, ironic, and morally hazy version of Los Angeles. A neo-noir classic, the film reimagines the hard-boiled detective story with humor, melancholy, and Altman’s signature loose, observational style.
