Event Description:

Join us for an extraordinary celebration of heritage, identity, and cultural connection at the Lives in Me Heritage Culture Reveal. This impactful event, part of our first Lives in Me Heritage Festival, brings our community together to witness two of our most recent DNA giveaway winners as they uncover their African ancestry for the very first time.

This year’s Culture Reveal will introduce Jovani and Winston, our 6th and 7th Lives in Me Heritage winners, as they learn the names of their ancestral tribes and regions in Africa. Guided by cultural ambassadors and previous LIMH winners, Jovani and Winston will embark on a journey that connects them with traditions, stories, and the rich legacies of their African lineage.

What to Expect:

• Live Ancestry Reveal – Be part of the life-changing moment as our winners discover their African roots.
• Cultural Celebrations – Experience live music, dance, and storytelling inspired by African traditions.
• Community and Connection – Meet past LIMH winners, connect with members of the African American and African communities, and explore the power of heritage and unity.

Whether you’re reconnecting with your own roots or supporting others on their journey, this event offers a unique opportunity to honor African heritage, build community, and share in the joy of cultural discovery.

8th Annual Lives In Me Heritage DNA Giveaway

The search for the next Lives In Me Heritage Winner is underway. It could be your Culture Reveal that we are planning for Lives in Me Heritage Festival 2025. To apply fill out this application.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Descent: Applicants must be of Indigenous African American descent (descendants of enslaved people).
• Age: Applicants must be over 18 years old.
• Residence: Applicants must reside in the City of Boston.

How to Apply:

1. Fill Out the Application Form: Complete the application by February 20th at midnight.
2. Selection Process: Top 5 entrants demonstrating a commitment to cultural discovery will be selected by the LIMH committee. Tell us 'WHO LIVES IN YOU?'.
3. Finalist Event: Attend the virtual event on February 26th at 7 p.m. to present your story and receive community votes. You must be present to win the grand prize.
