Welcome to the Live Talk with LA WPF & CSMFO Orange County - Women Mentorship Panel Event & LA WPF Board Meeting. October 30, 2024 - Open to Men too!
WPF LA Chapter and CSMFO Orange County Chapter invite you to our Women’s Mentorship Panel Event, an opportunity to connect, inspire, and empower women at all stages of their professional journeys in Public Finance. Join us for an enriching panel session, led by Andrea Roess/DTA as the moderator, filled with thought-provoking discussions and invaluable networking opportunities.

At both sessions- we will be collecting donations of gently used professional clothing (in addition to clean shoes, accessories, and bags). Working Wardrobes is non-profit organization which provides professional donated clothing to individuals for interviews and also assists with job training and career development. Meet our Moderator and Women Mentors and Mentees Panelists:
Moderator - Andrea Roess - Managing Director of Finance DTA
Andrea Roess is LA WPF's Director of Mentorship Programs. As a DTA Managing Director, she specialize in funding public infrastructures and special district formations. Andrea holds her undergraduate degree from Pomona College and MBA from San Francisco State University with Series 50 and 65 licenses.

- Mentors: Michelle Bannigan and Barbara Arenado
- Michelle Bannigan, Finance Director, City of Stanton
Michelle Bannigan is a Finance Director at the City of Stanton with over two decades of experience in the local government industry. Her specialties include financial management, budgeting, auditing and reporting for local government agencies. Michelle is CSMFO Orange County Chapter Chair. She holds a B.A. in Accounting from Vanguard University of Southern California.
- Barbara Arenado, Director of Finance Treasurer, City of Seal Beach
Barbara Arenado, the Director of Finance at the City of Seal Beach, is an experienced government professional with over 25 years of experience with a passion to provide excellent public service and cost-efficient results. She is Vice Chair of the CSMFO Orange County Chapter. Barbara holds a B.A. in Business Administration/Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.

- Maria Martinez, Account Clerk Supervisor, City of Santa Fe Springs
Maria currently serves as the Account Clerk Supervisor at the City of Santa Fe Springs since 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Art Degree in Ministry and Leadership and is an active CSMFO Connect–Mentor member. Maria loves to read, go camping, spend time at the beach with family, which includes her husband, five children, and three grandchildren.
- Stefanie Clavery, Director of Finance, City of Long Beach - Utilities
Stefanie Clavery is Acting Senior Director of Finance for the City of Long Beach Utilities Department. With an undergrad degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona and 10 plus years of experience in both private and public finance sectors, she is a lifelong learner with a passion for personal development, community advocacy, and DEI. She serves on the Leadership Long Beach Board of Directors and the Lakewood Family YMCA Board of Governors and is also a mentor at the Cal State Long Beach College of Business. Work-life balance is key to her personal success as a wife and full-time working mother of her four young children.
