About this Event
Live Sound Production Workshop @ The Vault
Step behind the board and learn what it really takes to run live sound.
The Lynn Music Foundation is hosting a hands-on Live Sound Production Workshop led by experienced engineers Jonathan Gramling and Dave Simmons. This workshop is designed for anyone interested in live audio—whether you’re a musician, aspiring engineer, or just curious about how concerts come together.
Participants will learn:
- How to set up a full live sound system (PA, monitors, mics, and cables)
- Signal flow and gain staging fundamentals
- Live mixing techniques using a digital console
- Stage plotting and working with performers
- Troubleshooting common audio issues in real time
What makes this workshop unique is that it doesn’t stop at theory—you’ll immediately apply what you learn. Each session transitions directly into our Open Vault Jam Session, where participants will help run sound for live musicians using LMF’s gear, including drums, guitars, and keys.
This workshop is also part of a larger initiative to train a live sound crew for the Lynn Music Festival and other paid opportunities, giving participants a pathway into real-world event production.
Whether you’re looking to build skills, gain experience, or join a growing creative community, this is your chance to plug in and learn by doing.
Sundays | 3PM – 5PM (Workshop) + 5PM – 8PM (Live Jam Session)
