Wanakia Wildlife holds state and federal permits to house and display raptors (owls and hawks) whose permanent disabilities prevent them from returning to the wild. These raptors become educational ambassadors who help teach us about their natural behaviors. Participants will learn and observe firsthand how nature designed these awesome creatures, how they serve important roles in the ecosystem and how we can peacefully coexist with their species.Marty will also talk about what to do if you find ill, injured or orphaned birds and what wildlife rehab is all about.
Supply Drive: We, the Benjamin F. Goss Bird Club, will also be doing a supply drive for Wanakia Wildlife. They have a wishlist on their website (https://wanakia.org) but gift cards from Pick N Save, Piggly Wiggly, Meijer, Walmart, Fleet Farm and Menards are appreciated. Also, cleaning supplies are always needed: disinfecting bleach, dawn dish soap, paper towels and garbage bags (13 or 30 gallon). If you wish to donate, bring gifts cards or supplies to the meeting on February 15th. Paula will also be collecting money at the meeting if you would rather donate that way. If you canβt make it to the meeting but would like to donate, please contact Paula via email [email protected] or call 262-844-9848.
