About the Artist
We are kicking this series off with local artist Calvin Locklear.
Calvin Locklear is a Denver songwriter whose stripped-down, dynamic live shows reward close listening. His acoustic sets are driven by catchy original songs that balance weight and momentum - intimate without slowing the room down.
He self-produced and recorded his latest album, Sadder Than You Are, during late nights at home between work and family life, experimenting freely in basements and garages to shape a raw, hands-on sound that favors feel over studio polish.
In his writing, you can hear the ghost of Tom Petty, the grit of Tom Waits, and the restless optimism of Wilco - woven into story-driven songs that find light in heavy places.
