Ray Obiedo Trio
Contemporary Jazz Ray Obiedo Trio Bio: For years, Ray Obiedo has been at the forefront of musicians and composers who have combined Jazz, Latin, Brazilian, and Caribbean styles into a fresh and dynamic new musical brew. Bringing together Contemporary Jazz and World Beat elements and fusing them with his infectious brand of West Coast Funk. Ray has released 10 solo projects, 5 of which have been released on his Oakland-based record label Rhythmus Records. Ray’s long-time association with Pete Escovedo’s Orchestra continues today. Tours with Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, and the JB Horns, as well as sax icon Maceo Parker, have all been highlights. A world tour in 1978-79 with jazz superstar Herbie Hancock is still one of Ray’s most treasured musical memories. Recording session with George Duke, Lou Rawls, Grover Washington Jr., Brenda Russell, The Whispers, and most recently The Bob Mintzer Big Band.
Parking is now available seven days a week at the Mercedes-Benz Garage. Visit our parking page for more details.
