Canmore and artsPlace favourite, East Coast songwriter Lennie Gallant has released 15 award-winning albums and earned recognition from the JUNOs, ECMAs, and Les Prix Éloizes. Known for poetic, emotionally rich songs, his multimedia show Searching for Abegweit ran 190 times, with its standout track “Peter’s Dream” entering the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.Gallant has toured across North America and Europe, collaborated with major artists like Jimmy Buffett, Lucinda Williams, and David Foster, and even had his music travel to space. His album Time Travel was named a top ten Album of the Year, and his original Christmas album drew critical acclaim.
He also performs as part of the Francophone duo Sirène et Matelot, with strong chart success. A recipient of the Order of Canada, Gallant is celebrated not only for his music but also for his humanitarian work.
