Bobby Dove, the Montreal born singer-songwriter, is a magnetic presence in the world of Country and Americana music. With a voice as powerful as their storytelling, this trans/non-binary troubadour pays tribute to the golden age of Country, while crafting original, emotionally charged songs that “blend genres with the touch of a master.” (Mary Gauthier) In 2021 Bobby released their sophomore record, Hopeless Romantic, co-produced with Blue Rodeo's Bazil Donovan, and Tim Vesely (Rheostatics). The album gained international acclaim and climbed the Canadian Roots and US Alt-Country radio charts. The album also earned Bobby a record deal in the Netherlands, leading to their first European tour in 2022/23. Touring extensively throughout Canada, in addition to all the local haunts, Bobby Dove has given highlight performances at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Vancouver Island Music Fest, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Dauphin’s Countryfest, National Arts Centre (Ottawa), and Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, NL. Along the road, Bobby has collaborated with luminaries such as Fats Kaplin (John Prine), Mary Gauthier, Richard Thompson, Ray Benson (Asleep at the Wheel), and Lavender Country. Currently based in rural Manitoba, Bobby Dove is scheduled to showcase at AmericanaFest this September in Nashville, TN, as they drop the first single “Not Much of an Outlaw” from their upcoming full-length album “Fortune Teller” set to release in 2026. Produced by Aaron Goldstein (Cowboy Junkies/City and Colour), the new record features 13 tracks, including a cowrite/duet with Grammy winning singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale.Come listen to live music in our memorable speakeasy.
