This show will be open to the public and live-streamed from the 3rd Street Facebook page. BOB STEWART will be our featured performer with the show starting at 8:00 PM EST. BRUCE HILDEBRAND will open at 7:30 PM EST. The LiveStream feed will begin at 7:30 PM. At 8:00 PM EST, we welcome Bob Stewart. Bob Stewart is a composer/singer-songwriter from Athens, Ohio. Stewart’s songs reflect musical influences such as John Prine, James Taylor and Bruce Cockburn. In addition to writing songs, he composes and performs finger-style guitar instrumentals with musical hints of legendary blues artist Robert Johnson. Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna) describes Stewart as “a great talent with a great artistic body of work worthy of being heard,” “an adult guitar player and singer,” and “a bona fide artist.” Frontman for the Athens-based Bob Stewart Band (bobstewartband.com) beginning in 2002, Stewart began performing as a solo artist after Covid. At 7:30 PM EST, we welcome back Bruce Hildenbrand, with his friend Thor Hanes! A rock ‘n’ roller in high school, Bruce Hildenbrand discovered acoustic folk and blues music in the mountains of West Virginia during his college years. After moving to New York’s Hudson Valley, Bruce was a frequent performer at upstate New York music events as lead guitarist with a folk rock band, an Americana band, and several folksingers. Now that Bruce has relocated to southwest Virginia, he enjoys performing blues, folk, and ragtime as well as his own compositions solo at open mics, jams, and smaller local venues. Some of his biggest influences include Jorma Kaukonen, David Bromberg, Dave Van Ronk, and Eric Clapton. He also relishes every opportunity to jam with and accompany the many excellent musicians in the southwest Virginia area.
