Charles Wilson, a seasoned Baltimore musician, can best be described as energetic, complex, and full of life. Starting at the age of five, he began taking lessons under the direction of Orlando Cotto at the New Shiloh School of Music. Later, during his adolescence, he studied under Charles Funn and David Stauffer through high school and beyond, where he developed a deep love for jazz and improvisation. Through these teachings, Charles began a professional music career, performing in a variety of styles and genres and traveling across the world.

Artists that Charles has performed and recorded with include The String Queens, Yaya Bey, Warren Wolf, Frank McComb, Gary Thomas, Natalie Stewart, Allison Crockett, and Navasha Daya, to name a few. Charles is deeply grateful for each experience and the wisdom every artist has shared with him. He continues to look forward to collaborating and expanding his network with local, national, and international artists.

Charles and Friends is a band built upon the small community of musicians and friends Charles has made throughout his professional career. It’s a blend of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, gospel, and the unique influences of every band member. With a mix of original music and covers, the band strives to create a one-of-a-kind musical experience that leaves a lasting impression.
After the live music, stay for an exciting jam session where musicians can showcase their talents and create spontaneous, magical moments. This is an oppurtinity for both performers and audience members to engage directly with the music in an intimate and interactive setting. Don't miss it !!!
