Beechworth singer-songwriter Liv Cartledge brings her raw, roots-driven folk-rock to Old Church on the Hill for a special headline performance, joined by acclaimed troubadour Grim Fawkner.Cartledge writes songs that feel lived-in and deeply human, pairing gritty, unfiltered storytelling with a voice that can growl one moment and soar the next. Her music traces the lines between home, love, loss and the strange beauty of growing up, delivered with warmth, soul and a quietly commanding stage presence. Fresh from touring nationally with Australian folk icons The Waifs and currently releasing music from her forthcoming debut album, Cartledge is fast becoming one of the most compelling new voices in Australiana.
Supporting her is rambling songwriter Grim Fawkner, a road-tested performer known for his lyrical dexterity and distinctive guitar style. From busking streets across Australia and New Zealand to touring through the UK and Europe, Fawkner has built a loyal following wherever he goes. His career has included stages at festivals such as Byron Bay Bluesfest, Queenscliff Music Festival and Cygnet Folk Festival, as well as performances alongside artists including Marcus King Band, Pete Murray and The Waifs.
Set inside the beautiful acoustics of Old Church on the Hill, this will be an intimate night of songs, stories and two distinctive voices in Australian folk.
Opening the show at 7:30pm will be legendary local singer/songwriter Grim Fawkner on Friday 10 April, for a musical evening not to be missed.
Doors open 7pm for a 7:30pm start.
