A seasoned mandolin player known for his time with the Grammy-nominated Special Consensus, Prewitt has spent years as a sought-after sideman before stepping into the spotlight with a sound that’s deeply rooted in tradition; unmistakably his own.
In 2024, Prewitt introduced audiences to his artistry with The Peerless Mountain Sessions; a lively, one-day recording of fiddle tunes that captured the raw energy and spontaneity of bluegrass at its core. He followed it up with Something He Can Handle; a full-length album of original songs released on Common Loon Records, showcasing his songwriting voice and expanding his musical reach.

Kohlrabi Soup is a Fargo-based bluegrass group blending high-energy picking with heartfelt, roots-driven songwriting. The band gained regional attention after opening for Pert Near Sandstone and being named finalists in the Blue Ox Virtual Band Competition. Their 2024 release, Little Wild Bouquet EP, showcases a mix of tight harmonies, dynamic arrangements, and a fresh take on traditional sounds.
