Virtuosity ignites — Sergej Krylov’s 1710 Stradivari and Konstantin Shamray launch the season in a blaze of French colour.
About this Event

"I was amazed by the quality of this remarkable violinist, whom I consider to be one of the five best contemporary violinists in the world.” — Mstislav Rostropovich

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Technique and intonation were faultless … his capacity to transform a simple phrase into gold with such subtlety of dynamic shading and adjustment of colour was fabulous.” — David Truslove, Bachtrack reviewing Krylov with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Live at Yours opens its 2026 season in glorious surroundings — beneath the star-studded vault of Sydney’s Great Synagogue, a 19th-century masterpiece whose soaring arches and golden light create an atmosphere of timeless majesty.

Italian-based violinist Sergej Krylov, hailed by Mstislav Rostropovich as one of the five greatest violinists in the world, joins Konstantin Shamray, a Live at Yours favourite, for an evening of rare electricity and emotional depth.

Their program blazes with the gypsy passion and French flair of Maurice Ravel, the sparkling brilliance of Camille Saint-Saëns, and the radiant romanticism of César Franck — music that dances between elegance and abandon, light and fire.

Renowned across Europe for his fusion of searing virtuosity and luminous warmth, Krylov makes his maiden Australian tour — an unmissable chance to experience one of the world’s great violinists up close, within one of Sydney’s most awe-inspiring spaces.

Program:
Camille Saint-Saëns – Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso
Maurice Ravel – Tzigane
Maurice Ravel – Violin Sonata No. 2
César Franck – Sonata in A major

Allow yourself to be swept away — by the gypsy rhythms of Ravel, the glow of candlelit stone, and the haunting voice of a centuries-old violin resonating beneath the synagogue’s Byzantine dome.

Sergej Krylov performs on the Stradivarius “Camposelice” (1710), generously on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.
An evening where music, architecture, and emotion intertwine — and every note feels close enough to touch.
