The Black Hills have so many artists releasing great, new, original music in early 2025 that we've decided to throw a party to prove it (on Johnny Service's birthday no less)! THE POINT:
Come listen to the recordings that Camp Comfort, Tanner Johns, Tom Whillock, Outside Kids, High Rise, Easy Light, Modern Folklore, and more have either just or are just about to release! Ask questions of the artists themselves, hear anecdotes about the recording process, and just generally enjoy the mutual celebration of musicians creating and releasing art.
THE JAM:
After we play everyone's new recordings over the PA system, members of all bands present take the stage for an unrehearsed, no holds bar jam session. What we're going for here is simple: enjoy the fruits of our labors with you, and then give you a glimpse into how we create things from scratch, live!
THE DETAILS:
To clarify, no band is planning on playing a traditional set, or following a schedule. The aim is to freely improvise together, follow musical ideas as they arise, and simply enjoy creating sound together in real time, while sharing that joy with you!
THE PAYOFF:
But that's not all: instead of negotiating payment for our performances like a normal show, Aby's has agreed to donate %10 of the bar sales that night to a local charity supporting the arts and music in the Black Hills. There will also be a donation bucket passed around to supplement.
