About this Event
"little white lies" is a new original musical written and composed by Natalie Brown as her Music thesis, and also serves as a Theater, Dance, & Performance Studies thesis in Acting for Victoria Pekel and Choreography for Camille Lawson. Set in 1923, the story follows Ella Carter, a woman who decides to pass for white after meeting the love of her life. 100 years later, her great-great-granddaughter, Brooklyn, faces the same decision – to pass or not to pass – in this new musical about legacy, identity, and family. The creative team includes AJ Walker (Director), Davianna Inirio (Stage Manager), Genesis Browne & Gia George-Burgher (Producers); advisors Jeanine Tesori, Renee Robinson, and Daniel Egan.
