About this Event
This is the Flagship Highlight Home Event of the Season. Gnome Surf Delivers the Magic and Stoke!
This is the first Inclusive Surf Competition Event of its Kind, Now in its 3rd Year. This year is extra special as Dunkin Joy in Childhood Foundation will be filming a National PR campaign highlighting our epic Athletes.
We believe that all kids, regardless of abilities, should be able to compete for the title of Grom Champion. This is a celebration showcase where everyone WINS! Overall scoring champions will receive Trophies and a 2026 Gnome Sponsorship. The top scorer will also receive a brand new surfboard. The scores are based on who is having the most fun, not on skill level.
Competition will be split into 3 Divisions: (Grouped by Age: 10 & Under, 18 & Under. Each Athlete will have an allotted time to display their surf skills, bravery, and style.
Tandem Division- Athlete and Instructor Team will ride the waves in Tandem.
Assisted Division- The Instructor will assist Athlete with positioning, wave choice, and push into the wave, but the Athlete will surf wave on their own.
Freestyle Division- Solo Surfing
Each wave the Athlete catches will be judged by a panel of judges. Their top 5 scores (waves) will be averaged into their final score. In the event of a tie, the total of all waves will be accounted for in the average to break the tie. Highest Score, Style, Bravery, and Stoke will determine the winners.
All Athletes will receive a Certificate of Awesome, an Official Gnome T-shirt, and a Limited Edition Little Legends sticker.
6 champions will be crowned. Each champ will be chosen from each Division, broken down by age group. Each champion will receive a Gnome Sponsorship for 2024, which includes limited custom swag and a free surf session. We will also award certificates to the second and third place. The top overall score will receive a new Catchsurf Beater Shortboard.
