Making their Sheffield debut, one of the UK’s most exciting line-ups right now, a brilliant trio of Robert Mitchell (Greg Osby, Courtney Pine CBE, Daymé Arocena, Jason Rebello, Basement Jaxx) on keys/narration, Zayn Mohammed (Oleta Adams, Nitin Sawhney, Lianne La Havas) on guitar/narration and Laurie Lowe (Preston-Glasgow-Lowe, Nicolas Meier, Jim Mullen, Andy Sheppard, Mike Mondesir, Zhenya Strigalev) on drums, bring a powerful and original mix of rock, fusion, classical, jazz, spoken word, freeform and cinematic soundscapes, showcasing the music on their debut album “Blueprint (Of An Infinite Gift)” on the Whirlwind Label. Award-winning pianist, keyboard player, composer, songwriter, festival curator, poet, and author Robert Mitchell dazzled us all in his recent performances at The Lescar with The Flame trio and in a wonderful solo set at the Samuel Worth Chapel. Robert has recorded 16 albums, published 3 poetry collections and participated in over 100 projects as a sideman, as well as performing in more than 40 countries. Leader of several acclaimed bands including TRUE THINK, Epiphany3 and the Flame, he is also a piano Professor at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Mentor/Task Force Member at Black Lives In Music, YMM teacher, Steinway Artist and recently taught/returned to the Paris Conservatoire and Pole Sup.

Guitarist Zayn Mohammed has been mentored by jazz greats including Wayne Shorter, David Gilmore during his time at Berklee College of Music, and also jazz piano legend Ahmad Jamal. Appearing previously at The Lescar with Robert Mitchell’s True Think band he’s a truly exciting and original musician who has performed with artists including Oleta Adams, Lee Ritenour, Nitin Sawhney, Lianne La Havas, George Benson, and many more.
Visiting us previously with another wonderful trio, Preston Glasgow Lowe, Laurie Lowe (drums) has performed with many of the finest jazz musicians around including Nicolas Meier, Jim Mullen, Dave O’Higgins, Andy Sheppard, Mike Mondesir, and Zhenya Strigalev, as well as touring with Grammy nominated The Foreign Exchange.
