Susan Orlean may have tackled orchid thievery, celebrity canines, and libraries, among countless other topics, but she's always shied away from writing directly about herself—until now. In Joyride, her first memoir, Orlean writes that "The story of my life is the story of my stories," and in the pages that follow, she invites readers into that writing life.
