We're thrilled to announce that the Hammond House International Literary Festival is set to take place throughout February, celebrating creativity, community and the written word. https://www.hammondhouse.org.uk/international-literary-festival-2026 This year's festival offers an inspiring fringe programme including creative events, literary workshops and masterclasses across North East Lincolnshire and online, culminating in a grand Festival Finale and Awards Day on Wednesday 25th February at University Centre, Grimsby.
A full itinerary on 25th includes writing workshops, poetry clinics, a bustling book fair, live music, portrait sketching, and a televised Awards Ceremony. This year's Awards, themed around "Secrets," have garnered an impressive standard of entries from talented writers worldwide - from Japan and Ireland to Mexico, Romania, and Malaysia. The winning and shortlisted entries will be featured in two curated, illustrated anthologies published by Hammond House: "Short Stories" and "Poetry, Songs and Scripts," which are both available for purchase on the day.
We are thrilled to be welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond - some of our writers are travelling from as far as Canada, France and even Australia! Stay tuned for all the latest updates, including author stories behind some of our award-winning short stories and poems, more additions to our vibrant programme of writing workshops and your chance to 'meet the authors' - who are looking forward to signing their latest books for you and offering writing advice through 1:1 clinics at the Festival Finale.
