About this Event
Brought to you by East Croydon Cool and hosted by award-winning journalist, Isabella Silvers, each Lit Night features an interview with a renowned writer who is pushing the cultural conversation forward.
On Tuesday 20 January, we welcome to the Lit Night's stage for a timely, heartfelt discussion to help you begin the new year with clarity and intention.
Emma is a Sunday Times bestselling author of nine books, including The Multi-Hyphen Method, Sabotage and OLIVE. Her second novel Table for One (2025) was named People magazine’s Fiction of the Week, and her Substack newsletter, , is one of the UK’s most-read, with thousands of paid subscribers. She also runs global creativity retreats and recently served as a judge for the 2025 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction.
After years of writing about work and productivity, Emma experienced chronic burnout that forced her to stop. Her new book, A Year of Nothing, chronicles her quiet rebellion against the cult of doing, rediscovering joy in life’s simplest pleasures - from dog-borrowing and dopamine dressing to relearning how to swim and embracing a child-free life.
Join us for an inspiring, honest and uplifting conversation and the perfect start to a new year.
