About this Event
LP007: CRIT
Tuesday 5 November
7.15pm for a 7.30pm start, til 8.45pm
Embassy Gallery, 10b Broughton St Ln, Edinburgh EH1 3LY
BYOB - alcohol or soft drink, or we have tea
After the success of our previous CRIT sessions, we are running another! This time we will break into SMALL GROUPS, grouped by similar disciplines, for maximum usefulness!
As always, the vibe will be informal, supportive, and healthily critical. We want you to leave feeling inspired and motivated. No crit experience necessary - it will essentially just be a chilled feedback session for your work and share your thoughts on others'.
SESSION STRUCTURE
π We will do a quick warmup before splitting into groups of 4ish
π We will roughly group everyone by what they make, so the feedback you are getting is more relevant - e.g art, moving image, writing
π In these groups we will take it in turns to present our work and receive / offer feedback, suggestions, developments, questions and so on
π If you arrive and realise you donβt want to present anything that is no problem at all - you are still very welcome to participate in the discussion!
π Afterwards we will probably go up Calton Hill for fireworks night!
WHAT TO BRING
π Bring something you are working on, any medium, any stage - can be something youβve just finished, are finishing off, are enjoying working on, are struggling to work on, are planning on making, or just a seed of an idea. As long as you are interested in getting feedback from others, that is great!
π Please ensure that whatever it is, you have thought about how you will present it to a small group - e.g. bring a painting that isn't massive, or some headphones if you want to play music / film
π We will provide paper and pens for note-taking
