About this Event

A Two Day Regional Formation Event
April 23-24

Any church leaders who work with young people (6th grade through young adults) in their ministries and the life of the Church are invited to attend a formation day led by the USCCB and hosted by the Archdiocese of Detroit to unpack the United States bishops’ pastoral framework for ministry with youth and young adults: Listen, Teach, Send.

This regional formation event is designed to equip all parish, school and other ministry leaders who encounter young people in their pastoral work — not only youth and young adult ministers, but also DREs, adult faith formation leaders, marriage and family life ministry leaders, baptism and sacramental prep teams, campus ministers, priests, deacons, and parish staff who walk with young people at every stage of life.

Through prayer, teaching, and practical application, participants will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Listen, Teach, Send framework and how it applies across parish and school ministries
  • Learn how to more effectively accompany young people in today’s cultural and spiritual landscape
  • Discover concrete ways to foster belonging, discipleship, and mission in parish life
  • Explore how every ministry can play a role in forming young people as lifelong missionary disciples
  • Connect with fellow leaders from across the region who share a passion for the Church’s mission with youth and young adults

Whether you work directly with teens and young adults or encounter them through sacramental preparation, family ministry, adult formation, or parish leadership, this day will help you better listen to their needs, teach the faith with clarity and confidence, and send them forth as witnesses of Christ.

Registration includes dinner and social on Thursday evening, light breakfast and lunch on Friday. Registration closes Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Join us for two days of formation, encouragement, and renewal as we strengthen our shared mission to serve the next generation of disciples.

You do not need to read Listen, Teach, Send in advance to participate in the formation, but it is encouraged. To read the Listen, Teach, Send: A National Pastoral Framework for Ministries with Youth and Young Adults, click here: |
