Ages 12+ / FREE
This is a drop-in activity, no need to book!
Lino printing is a traditional printmaking method that is simple and easy to learn the basics of but has the potential to create gorgeous and complex artworks. This workshop will teach you the fundamentals of lino and relief printmaking, and how you can get started at home with this accessible and easy technique.
Each participant will be given their own sheet of lino and cutting tool to carve out their own design, and then we will ink up the lino and print onto paper. The nature of printmaking is that you can print ‘multiples’, and produce several copies of the same artwork.
We encourage participants to source inspiration for their designs from the artworks on display, or from the high street around them, and to contribute to the group artwork that will be hanging in the display window of the gallery for the duration of the show.
(Please note that this workshop involves using sharp carving tools.)
