About this Event
All ages are invited to the Near North Library for an afternoon of creativity to help us honor and reimagine a neighborhood mural that was whitewashed in 2015.
In 1972, artist William Walker painted murals on the facade and interior of Strangers Home Missionary Baptist church located at Evergreen and Clybourn. Once surrounded by Cabrini-Green's "White" buildings, the church now stands on its own and has remained vacant for nearly 20 years.
This program is a collaboration with the Near North Library, Art on Sedgwick, and teens from their Art & Impact program with After School Matters.
