In this hands-on workshop for beginners, learn how to design, carve and print a linocut block by hand. Using a range of linocut printmaking techniques, you will take home a lino block, a set of carving tools, a collection of prints on paper and fabric, and the skills to carve and print at home. This workshop is eco-friendly and solvent free. All printmaking materials and equipment supplied. Materials included in workshop fee:
* 1x lino block 15x15cm
* 1x small ezy-carve lino block
* 1x set of lino carving tools
* cartridge papers
* spectrum of inks for printing
* tools for printing
* calico squares for printing onto
Participants to bring:
* Apron/Protective shirt or wear clothing appropriate for an art workshop
* A folder or bag to take prints home in
* Gloves to prevent inky fingers in your preferred size
* Pen, pencil, eraser, note book for drawing & note taking
* Images/designs to refer to
* Any additional papers or fabric you wish to print onto
Please note that this workshop includes the use of shared printing materials such as rollers and inking slabs. At times you may have to wait your turn to use your preferred coloured ink.
Tea & Coffee provided, please bring along any snacks you may require. There is also a Skala bakery next door!
